The crabby critic

That was a lot less misanthropic than you led me to believe. Looks like a political backbone got sucked out somewhere.

We have no end of such spines, if you should want any...

Oh, I meant out of the book - not yours. I wish I could correct my ambiguities!

Oh, but your ambiguities are part of your charm--don't you dare correct them!

A friend just emailed me also saying I gave myself too much credit for misanthropy. I think I just felt as if I was raining on the parade by giving a lukewarm review to such a "feel-good" book.

TIB is one of the most inane things NPR has ever done. BG hit all the right words-- "vapid", etc.-- in the review.
