One Sentence Perfume Review: Bois Oriental, Serge Lutens

An olfactory translation of the third movement of Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 12--rich, classic and innocent, all at once.

Notes per Bois de Jasmin: violet, peach, plum, rose, cardamom, cinnamon, clove, musk, Atlas cedarwood, and vanilla.

Portrait of a Boy, by Jean-Baptiste Greuze, 1763-64. Possibly a portrait of Mozart. Image from Wikimedia Commons.

I loved this; it was a 40th birthday present from B, years ago.

I always make sure I have some sequestered.
Because.

It is very pretty, without being in any way precious. Oddly enough, your comment made me go to basenotes to see how long it's been out (I thought it was post-2000--wrong, 1992), and I saw that one of the reviewers there referenced Salzburg and marzipan. There's definitely some kinda Mozart vibe about this perfume.
