One Sentence Perfume Review: Kiss in the Dark, Hové

Mmm, Shalimar ... no, Emeraude ... Shalimaude...

A guess at the notes: Bergamot, lemon, oppoponax, jasmine, rose, incense, sandalwood, patchouli, amber

The Hové website

Le Baiser, Carolus-Duran, 1868

Sounds great, I love both of these.
How's the lasting power?

Not spectacular--that's true of almost all Hove scents. They tend to be somewhat subdued, though there are some exceptions, like Imperatrice The parfum of KITD lasts 4-5 hours on me.

That's not too bad. Of course, Emeraude lasts half a lifetime and then some:)

Shalimaude. That's a great cat name.

I have the samen experience with Olive Flowers from Madini. With an extra wiff of Bal a Versailles.

(wearing the Olive Flowers today, as a matter of fact)

You make me want to get a cat, dissed. (I actually had one named Scheherazade. Shalimaude could be a sort of tribute name...)

Bradamante--I love Olive Flowers. It seems to morph to the desire of the wearer. When I long for Shalimar, it's Shalimar, When I want Vol de Nuit, it's Vol de Nuit...
