Measured resistance


Fights between hawks and crows are usually noisy and brutal. Crows generally gang up to attack a lone hawk, and I find it disturbing to watch, even though I know the crows are only defending themselves. I can't help identifying with the predatory hawk, just trying to survive, all alone against the mob. ...(more)

I'm stunned by these interactions between avians- and other species.

Inexplicable, what you witnessed; perhaps a 'draw' between worthy adversaries , perhaps ?

Divine intervention ?

Conflicts between species are very complicated. They can be incredibly brutal, but more often than not they stop short of total annihilation, and sometimes they are extremely restrained. Unlike us, their fights are never driven by ideology.
