Remember my complaint about being the object of a Dark-Eyed Junco boycott? Somebody broke ranks--there was a lone Junco hanging around my back yard all afternoon yesterday. Maybe he read the blog and took pity on me.

Does he look blue, Renee? He's really a deep slate gray. Does have a slight blue cast, though. Juncos vary quite a bit, plenty of them are lighter than this guy. The one in my yard was a dark one--those are the prettiest, I think.

Deep slate gray with a slight bluish cast is exactly what I see. Whatever you call it, I love that color!
