Seems to me, I've seen quite a few of these today- most decidely not in such prime condition, ahem...]
Well, youth is fleeting. But it's great while it lasts.
My guess is that Courbet did not attempt to show this work at the Salon of 1867. :) I like the rosiness of her flesh. Vive la femme!
