I'm working on a proper post, but in the meatime, click over to this video of a Great Horned Owl chick doing his thing--whatever it is. I think it's adorable. Thanks to Counterpunch for the link to Bird Cinema.

Awwww.... an owlet! By the way what a neat site. I'm so bird-crazy and that site is right up my alley.
When my husband was a kid, one of his good friend's had a *pet* owl. The family found it as an owlet and it had a broken wing. The vet said it would never fly again and the family ended up keeping it. They fed it live mice, etc. and my husband said, when you would walk into their house, the owl's head would do a 360 turn. As for tame, he said it was as tame as it could be and everyone had a healthy respect for this bird.
