Being naturally curious, children can't be shushed.
When the Pompeii exhibit came to the MFA, years ago, I remember all of us, one sweaty July, being packed like sardines, intently regarding the artifacts of daily life...
There was a vessel, and the spout was...dear me, yes it was !
A toddler repeatedly tugged on his mother's skirt and asked:
"Mommy, what is wrong with that man ?"
[While the crowded room fell utterly silent, awaiting her response !]
God bless the woman.
She took a deep breath and calmly noted :
"Perhaps he's not feeling very well..."
Not well, indeed.
LOL, Chaya...when we went to Pompeii, the funiest thing the tourguide pointed out was a PENIS carved into the cobblestones on the street...pointing the way to the brothel...
